Research Interests:	Research focuses on the intersections of visual art and geography with an emphasis on the dual role of images as both geographic data and components of geographic imagination. Applied work (see selected publications) has investigated the use of photography in early field surveys and expeditions and the forensic analysis of documentary sketches, particularly those produced at archaeological sites. Field areas of interest are principally in Central and South America.
Teaching:	Taught courses over the last several years include cultural, environmental, and resource geography at the undergraduate level and a graduate seminar on geographic information in the visual arts.
