Hazards and Disasters

James K. Mitchell researches the human dimensions of hazards and disasters.
His research encompasses how societies assess and manage hazards, the unevenness of public interest in disasters, and lessons that can be learned from catastrophes such as the December 26, 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis.
