All are welcome to join in the fourth annual mapathon in support of humanitarian relief efforts on GIS Day during National Geography Awareness Week.

Together with fellow Rutgers students, staff and faculty, you will help add geospatial data such as roads and buildings to OpenStreetMap, a free and editable map of the world that is used by communities, organizations and governments worldwide to address local development challenges and aid disaster response.

No experience with mapping is necessary. A demonstration of how to use the HOTOSM mapping platform will be provided, and help will be available throughout the event. Join or leave at any time during this online event.

We will be continuing to work on a mapping project titled, "Bauchi Road mapping for immunization outreach and health intervention" sponsored by eHealth Africa.

There is a required registration link (simply asking for your name and email) for this online mapathon at the bottom of this Rutgers Libraries workshop scheduling webpage

If you would like to get a head start and to get an idea of what we will be doing, sign up for a HOTOSM account (required to use the map editor) HOTOSM account and click 'Sign Up'
