
They visited sites of historical significance to Black communities including the plaque and mural honoring radical labor organizer Ben Fletcher and the area of the 1964 North Philadelphia uprising.

They attended a public program "School Closures and Curriculum Repression" organized by the Philadelphia chapter of Scholars for Social Justice where local organizers, activists, educators, and education scholars engaged in critical discussion about the contemporary contests over the educational landscape in Philadelphia. The program included a poetry performance by Rutgers undergraduate Gavin Jeremiah.
