My current research analyzes the role played by alternative food networks in farmers’ economies, environments, and adaptive capacities in the region of the Andes around Colombia's capital city, Bogotá. Focusing on alternative food networks that are connecting the Colombian capital to rural municipalities, this research uncovers linkages and relationships between farmers’ cultural and environmental values, food production strategies, marketing strategies, and social networks that stimulate and support, but also constrain, farmers’ adaptive capacities and transformative processes in a context of climate change.
